Why is she so confident she can teach you this? Because, a year after an "event mishap", out of the blue, it dawned on her that she could have been killed and, that what she had said to Amir Kotb, the cafe owner was indeed true. "IT" was all in her book. she had replied, "If you'd like to know how I'm doing this, it's in my book, Sparkle and Shine," to his statement, "You are a real Trooper! You're laughing and smiling and cracking jokes. If that was me, I'd be over there bawling my eyes out!" It was THE example that could perhaps illustrate simply, one of the key things she could teach people that very few people can actually do themselves. What was the event that had happened? She had crashed (she felt though like she was moving in slow motion) into a steel post with her face as the front wheel of the bicycle she was riding got stuck hard into a tram car track as she tried to turn onto the side walk to get out of the way of a tram car behind her in Amsterdam.

The result? Seven teeth affected with five knocked out of her mouth (one was never found). Michele experienced no panic, no turmoil, was calm, stood up as an outstretched hand helped her up and walked around checking in with her limbs. There were no racing thoughts and no worry, and miraculously, no pain. How do you NOT go into panic, and "OMG - my face! My teeth! No insurance?!"

For Michele, she knew she could trust her daughter to take charge. They left Amir's cafe with the four teeth in a cup of milk and walked to the bus stop. The emergency hospital receptionist gave instruction and the taxi cab driver took them to a dental clinic. After dental surgery, they took a leisurely half hour walk to the hotel stopping off at the pharmacy for med. It was a beautiful walk in the Amsterdam evening. After dropping off the meds they walked to a nearby Italian restaurant for a quiet dinner in good spirits. Her daughter had already said her piece right after leaving the dental clinic. "Mom, It's a good thing it wasn't JUST a scratched elbow or twisted ankle, as we would have been on that plane to Rome and stuck there because of COVID)." Then, two steps later... "Mom, I have to say this - I'm glad it was your teeth and Not Mine," at which we both laughed as I agreed and said, "Yes, because you would not be able to do what I'm doing right now."

To complete the story: All medical timelines were exceeded by 300% i.e. time teeth were out of her mouth (3 hours vs. 1 hour), partial root canals (seven in total) completed within 1 month but this was done 3 months later (It was the start of Covid and all clinics were closed), the endodontist was amazed as he told her the x-ray showed no concerns and he was amazed as she was "way ahead of the healing timeline he was expecting from the trauma experienced from the impact). In case you're wondering, the fifth tooth that was never found, had vacated the ideal spot for the implant Michele wanted, for anchoring of the affected teeth.
